Ferrari 275 GTB

Yes, we were fortunate enough to work on a genuine Australian delivered Ferrari 275 GTB. Rarer and more valuable than hen’s teeth, but to us, it’s less about the value of the car and more about the mastery that has gone into creating it.

Obviously, the brief was to stay strictly in keeping with how it was delivered from Maranello, which meant sourcing original Connolly Vaumol leather- one of the finest hides available. The tanning process is much longer and the hide is surface finished rather than drum dyed. The focus on the craft is extreme to say the least. As an example, even the process of grain matching the panels took 3 times longer than normal, to ensure the natural grain of the hides would match perfectly on the finished seat.

Needless to say, the colour was perfectly matched to original spec and the car was completely retrimmed, bar the original carpets. The seats themselves were rebuilt, including the webbing and the foams, again to Ferrari or better standards. The challenge with a job like this is clearly quite high, as is the level of refinement required, but we love a good challenge and are very satisfied with the end result. There are things such as the concealed stitch on the seat listings that John still finds deeply rewarding. Hopefully the owner of this very special car feels the same way every time he opens the door.
